Growing up with a mother like mine, I’ve had to learn some hard lessons and I’ve learned them the hard way. For example, never befriend your landlord, especially when she’s just as unstable as you. 

 Serenity has never had it easy. Being the only child of an alcoholic mother struggling with bipolar disorder isn’t exactly a walk in the park, but she does what she can. Sometimes that includes taking odd jobs just to make ends meet. When she’s approached by Travis Gold, he makes her an offer that she can’t afford to refuse; be his son’s date for the night. Seems like an easy gig - until things get complicated.

Growing up, it was always the plan to marry someone who would bring the Gold’s higher up on the food chain. At one point in time I was prepared to do so, but things changed. 

Eli knew marriage was in the cards for him. It was practically burned into his mind at a young age, but now that his father is trying to set him up with Helen Pitichio, a spoiled socialite, Eli wants out. Thinking of ways to put a halt to the family plans, he’s purposely placed with a waitress he met once - and it didn’t end well. In an effort to stick it to the man, he comes up with a plan that requires the help of his mysterious date.
